Changes to MOT Certificates

MOT certificates have changed. They are now being recorded at a central data base.

The new forms, both pass and fail, are black and white on plain paper. The danger is that these new certificates can be easily copied and printed on a home computer.

The DVLA website says:

'When your vehicle is tested on or after 16th October 2011, you will receive a new style of MOT certificate. This will be printed on plain paper in a landscape format instead of a pre printed form.. Changes to certificates are part of an ongoing drive to reduce costs and wastage.'
