Do you have a nickname?

None that I would admit on this forum !

 

 

Are you a rider or pillion (what bike)? (how long have you been riding?)

I am a very enthusiastic Rider -  I have been riding motorcycles for around 45 years.

I began on a BSA bantam 175 off roader at the age of 14 and in the interim I have owned and ridden many motorcycles.

I currently ride a 2023 CVO Road Glide 121vvt

Have you a dream bike?

Always the next one! I fell in love with the 2023 model CVO road glide whilst in Budapest last year and I now own one !

 

Mind you the new CVO ST Road Glide looks interesting !

 

How long have you been in the chapter ?

I initially joined Bridgwater HOG Chapter in 2012 after several years with Great Western. I subsequently let this and my HOG membership lapse in around 2014 whilst I followed a slightly different path but Jo always remained with the chapter and I returned to the fold in around 2018 after working abroad for 6 months and deciding I quite liked seeing a bit more of my wife !!!!

 

How long have you been on the committee?

I took over as temporary Head Road Captain in May 2023 and took my place on the committee at this time.

 

What is your favourite place to visit on the bike? 

Every place I visit on my bike seems to be a favourite for one reason or another, as a good friend once told me “ A bad day on the bike will always be better than your best day at work.”

 

Dream place to visit?

I try not to dream but I do try and make those things happen ! Having said that I’ve never ridden in the USA which is far overdue….. Route 66 or The Tail of the Dragon perhaps ?

 

What do you love about the Bridgwater chapter?

Bridgwater Chapter provides a superb platform to share my passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles with people who share that passion. Real friendships develop from this shared interest.

I enjoy nothing more than loading the bike and heading off, be that for a weekend in the UK or Europe or for a longer trip and this is something we do … a lot !

Brief History of riding motorcycles. These are the ones I remember !!!!

 

BSA Bantam Super 175 – off roader – I couldn’t pick it up or kick start it so if I dropped while off across the fields near home I would have to walk home and get my Dad to pick it up and kick start it.

 

Honda SS50 – first road bike at aged 16
