Moggy's Monthly Bits - November 2022
Well what a great AGM, it was so lovely to see so many there from afar, thanks to everyone that attended, I’m really proud to be part of Bridgwater Chapter and now in my 26 year, and have been on committee 24yrs of those and in my 14th year of been director, folk ask me do I still enjoy it, my reply is yes I still enjoy it now as I did all those years ago, so looks like your stuck with me for another year. Once again I would like to thank the committee for helping me throughout the year and Riders for their ongoing support, really looking forward to see what we are going to do next year with them, Joe has got lots of great ideas so watch this space, and as I have said on numerous occasions thanks to you the members for your continued support if it wasn’t for you guys we wouldn’t even have a chapter, so here’s to 2023, let’s have an amazing year
Well looks like that’s the Chapter official riding season over for now but if the weather allows it we may a couple more in so keep and eye on the Face book page and website. We have 3 new Rd Captains who have completed the HOG training course, so congratulations to Kev Daggar, Mike Akehurst and Chris Hembrow, look forward to see what you come up with. If any of you fancy coming on board and being a Rd Marshall, then go and speak to John, he can talk you through what it entails. If any of you have any ideas or places you would like us to take a ride then again let us know and we will try to fit this in throughout the year
We now have a lot of you signed up for the HOG Mileage Challenge, but if you haven’t yet signed up see John or send details to him, we need, photo of your mileage, bike reg, VIN and HOG number, when we have the Charity Bake Off, Sat 26th Nov this will be the end date, this mileage will then be your start date for 2023, at the Jan meeting we will award Trophies to the highest male and female with the most miles. Once we have all the mileage numbers Riders will upload this to the HOG data base, you should receive your mileage patches, once this is done you can follow your miles on your HOG membership page, any queries questions give us a shout. The mileage officer role will be up for grabs in the new year, so if anyone is interested in this role then let us know ASAP, it’s quite a simple process, you just have to collate the info and add to the spread sheet, you can always have a chat with us in more detail if you fancy it
Like I’ve already said we are having a Charity Bake Off at Riders Sat 26th , this is for homemade cakes etc, so lets see what you can come up with, we will give out prizes for best Male and Female, so get baking, we will also be doing teas and coffees and all money raised will go to charity, if you would like to help on the day then speak to Sharon.
Hope you have all booked your Cider Rally rooms as by the time you get this mag it is now open to all non BW members, as its our 30th Anniversary think it will be really busy, so if you haven’t and still want to go then I’d get onto it ASAP, if you have any queries about Cider Rally then speak to Gina or myself, if you live local and don’t want to have a room then you just need a weekend ticket but no rush to buy that, we do have day tickets as well but that works out dearer then the weekend ticket
We are having a Christmas Jumper Day, Sat 3rd December, so meet at Riders in the morning then we are going to the Admirals Landing for a Xmas dinner, if you want to join us and want details speak to Sharon as she has the menu choices, be great for us all to meet up before Christmas.
At the beginning of the month we attended the wedding of two new members, Kev and Jan Orpin (Ken and Barbie) we escorted them to their reception in West Bay, so congratulations to you both and glad we could be part of your special day, thanks to everyone that came, a lovely afternoon.
